Are You Human? Insights into Prospective Student Perceptions of AI

As colleges and universities increasingly explore the integration of AI into their operations, understanding how prospective students perceive this technology is crucial. This session dives into the findings of a national research study involving 4,500 prospective undergraduate students, shedding light on their familiarity with AI, how they use it, and their ability to distinguish between AI-generated and human-created marketing materials. One student described AI as “our generation’s Internet or smartphone—everything will evolve around it.” Join us to uncover how students view AI’s role in their college search process, how it influences their trust in institutions, and what these insights mean for the future of higher education marketing.
