The National Small College Enrollment Conference has been connecting higher education professionals for 35 incredible years. NSCEC is the only conference that puts a special emphasis on the unique challenges that smaller institutions face, with support for every role from marketer to enrollment officer to student success staff and beyond.
Carnegie is looking forward to its second year hosting NSCEC, and we have plenty of reasons why the conference should make your “must-attend” list in 2024.
1. Networking
The spirit of NSCEC is based on collaboration and connection. Our attendees bring unique perspectives and ideas for overcoming the challenges smaller institutions face, and there will be no shortage of opportunities to learn from your peers in the higher education space.
2. New Strategies
You can expect to walk away from NSCEC with tangible takeaways and fresh ideas based on what’s happening in higher education now. The industry is ever-changing, and we will work together to learn new ways to adapt and conquer.
3. Small Group Discussions
These sessions are a crowd favorite, giving attendees the chance to connect with leaders at other institutions on pre-selected topics of discussion. Due to popular demand, we’ll be offering an extra small group discussion session this year!
4. Current Events Panel
We will be hosting a current events panel for the first time in NSCEC history! You’ll be able to ask a group of seasoned higher education professionals exactly what you want to know as it pertains to the current state of higher education.
5. Location Location Location!
This will be NSCEC’s second year in Charlotte, NC, and for good reason! From the Museum of Illusions to exploring the NASCAR Hall of Fame, you’ll have plenty of options to plan some team bonding time, all within walking distance or a short scooter away from our host hotel. And don’t even get us started on the food! We’re especially excited about Monarch Market, Charlotte’s newest food hall located right inside the hotel.
6. Innovative Speakers
We have an exciting docket of speakers this year, with a mix of familiar and brand-new faces. We’re especially looking forward to kicking off the conference with keynote speaker Rob Franek, Editor-in-Chief at The Princeton Review ®.
Learn more about him on the NSCEC homepage.
7. Meeting New Vendors
Every institution needs vendors they trust, which is where our exhibitor hall comes in. You’ll be able to connect with several higher education vendors and learn whether their services will serve as a solution for your institution.
8. Prizes!
Speaking of exhibitors, you’ll be able to enter our prize raffle by visiting each exhibitor table. Prizes won in past years include a Yeti cooler, an Airbnb Gift Card, Airpods, and even free registration for the next NSCEC!
9. Fun Social Events
We take the adage “work hard, play hard” very seriously. After all sessions on Tuesday, we’ll host our much-loved Wine and Cheese Reception, then move the party to the city in the evening with a social. You can expect good snacks, great drinks, and excellent company!
10. Professional Development
Whether you’ve been in higher education for years or are just kicking off your journey, there will be a healthy mix of session content for all experience levels. Plus, you can connect with other professionals for guidance in areas you wish to grow in. The conference isn’t just about small colleges. It’s about YOU!
We hope you join us in July for the conference! Head to the NSCEC homepage to register or learn more information, including the preliminary schedule. If there are questions that aren’t answered there, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at conference@nscec.com.
