For Immediate Release—WESTFORD, MA & PORTLAND, OR, January 11, 2018— Carnegie Communications LLC and Dartlet LLC announced today that the companies have executed a definitive merger agreement. The transaction represents the convergence of two innovative marketing companies with the goal of providing their clients with seamless “research to implementation” marketing solutions that drive change. The privately held company will operate under the brand name Carnegie Dartlet.
Carnegie was the first higher education agency to provide digital marketing services to colleges and universities. Since 1985, Carnegie has helped students find the right colleges, and colleges find the right students through their leading college search engine, CollegeXpress. Dartlet is disrupting the brand management market with cutting-edge research, strategy, and creative services they provide primarily in higher education while also serving clients in health care, banking, consumer retail, destination, and professional sports.
The companies have been business partners since 2015 and have successfully implemented their full lifecycle marketing solutions model while collaborating on projects they’ve completed for mutual clients. Carnegie Dartlet will be headquartered in Westford, Massachusetts, with offices in the Pacific Northwest. Joe Moore, Chairman and CEO of Carnegie, will hold the same positions in the new combined company. Tyler Borders and Scott Ochander, Co-founders of Dartlet, will serve as CIO and CMO, respectively. Meghan Dalesandro, Carnegie’s President, has been named COO.
“This is a true merger of privately owned businesses, the entrepreneurs who forged these companies, our teams, and our products and services. As before, we can quickly make decisions that provide our clients better service, but now we can deliver a richer and more comprehensive experience,” said Moore. “Personally, I am very excited to partner with the Dartlet team. Tyler and Scott are two of the most innovative minds in our industry.”
“Both companies are innovators and market leaders. Each will contribute proprietary intellectual properties, technologies, and processes which, when combined, will provide many new client solutions,” said Borders.
“Our alliance has proven itself to be extremely symbiotic. It’s an honor to be joining forces with Carnegie, whose long record of success speaks for itself,” added Ochander.
With the merger complete, and the recent launch of Carnegie Global, a subsidiary of Carnegie Dartlet, the new company will provide their innovative marketing strategies—from initial identity research and brand development to the execution of cutting-edge enrollment marketing strategies—worldwide.
