Assistant Director, Solutions Strategy

The Assistant Director of Solutions Strategy plays a pivotal role in the development and execution of winning proposals for our organization. Their primary responsibility is to craft compelling proposals tailored to the needs of our clients while also contributing strategic insights to enhance our overall proposal development process. This position is also pivotal in our overall sales asset strategy, ensuring we have comprehensive assets to support our sales team. This role requires exceptional writing skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze client needs and objectives to develop tailored solutions and strategies for multi-divisional, high priority opportunities
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposal content that effectively communicates our value proposition and synthesizes complex information into concise narratives
  • Collaborate with the client success team and subject matter experts to gather relevant information and insights to use in the development of proposals
  • Ensure compliance with proposal requirements and adherence to branding guidelines
  • Review and analyze  RFP proposals to determine key project requirements
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in proposal content and approach
  • Offer insights and recommendations to improve the effectiveness and competitiveness of proposals

Qualifications:

  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to analyze client needs and develop innovative solutions
  • Very strong  writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to tailor proposals to the needs of a wide variety of higher education audiences including, but not limited to, alumni, prospective undergraduate students, prospective graduate students, adult learners, parents, faculty, influencers, leaders, etc
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal development software (e.g., Qvidian, Proposify)
  • Experience in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in proposal management or related field (e.g., APMP) is a plus
  • Effective communication and time management skills for a remote work environment as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
  • Physical ability to be in a stationary position at a desk and work at a computer for prolonged periods of time

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field (master’s degree preferred)
  • 5–7 years of marketing experience in any of the following areas: digital marketing strategy, web strategy, SEO, brand strategy, or student search
  • Proven experience in proposal writing, with a focus on complex solutions and services
